Connection Issues

If Aura has issues connecting to the server, try the following troubleshooting steps:

  • Confirm that you only have one instance of Unreal Engine open by fully closing Unreal and Aura. Check that the Aura instance in the system tray has closed (force close it if not). Check that there aren't any Unreal Engine processes running via Task Manager. Re-open your Unreal project and see if the Aura server connects.

  • Check if port 41200 are being utilized by another program by opening Windows Terminal and running:

    netstat -ano | findstr :<port_number>

  • Confirm that Aura.exe has installed correctly. When you start Unreal Engine (with the plugin enabled) make sure that you see an Aura instance in the system tray.

  • If you are still running into issues, perform a clean installation using these instructions: https://www.tryaura.dev/documentation/installation-issues
